Japanese Food (Lin Te Kuan)

Japan is a country known for their delicious food. They have food magazine and
a lot of cooking books to teach people how to cook. They also have so many TV
programs about delicious food or eating competition. And Japanese foods are not only
taste good but also look good!
Japanese are good at making their sweets so beautiful that it almost looks like a
work of art. Cake is a typical example. A simple piece of cake, with some white and
pink cream, plus some strawberries being cut into cute shape, it looks so gorgeous that
I cannot bear to eat it! It is too beautiful to be eaten. The other example is ice cream.
Normal ice cream is just different kinds of flavors of ice cream put in the tube shape
of cookie. But Japanese ice cream is not the same. They have ice cream with bright

color that looks sweet and yummy. And they also sprinkle some chocolate or nut
powder to make the ice cream looks not so dull. With the tube shape of cookie plus a
pink spoon! In the end, the worker in the shop gives the customer the ice cream with
a big and warm smile on his or her face. The whole ice cream thing puts people in a
good mood! Not only taste good but also makes people feel good.
Japanese savory foods are also good looking. Fried pork chops is a great
example. The cook makes the pork chops fried to the best extent and then puts it on
the meshed steel. The color of the pork chops is a little bit bright yellowish brown
with the crispy cover. The cabbage is shred and put beside the fried pork chops. The
whole looks makes people want to eat the whole! And Japanese famous food – ramen,
is also both tasty and good looking. The soup of ramen is strong color with some
noodle showing out a little bit. The chopped green onions, meat, and other ingredients
are placed in great order which makes the whole ramen looks very appetizing. Susi is
also delicious-looking. Unlike other food, Susi is simple and being beautiful because
of the skills of the cook. Susi must use fresh fish to make the color of the meat looks
glossy. And the cook has to cut the meat in the best shape and thickness. The amount
of rich is also a key point to make the Susi. All this make a beautiful and delicious
Susi. I am so amazed with the great skills the masters have. I love the shape of Susi,
simple but beautiful.
No wonder Japanese always say “いただきます” before eating, because
it’s a honor to eat such delicious looking foods! I enjoy eating Japanese food
because of their great outside and taste. After all, it’s not easy to see so
many foods with so stunning appearance and great. The other foods in other
countries are basically good to eat but not so good to look. So I found this is
something really cool about Japan!
